“If things are heating up in Neptune, the fictional seaside town of UPN’s Veronica Mars (Wednesdays at 9 pm/ET), blame Jason Dohring and Charisma Carpenter. Dohring’s Logan has been hooking up with Kendall, his best friend’s sexy step mom (played by Buffy and Angel alum Carpenter), ever since Kristen Bell’s Veronica gave him the boot. And in tonight’s episode, their on-screen affair takes an even naughtier twist. While Dohring and Carpenter crackle with chemistry, fans — we should say Logan-and-Veronica fans — are hardly thrilled. “After Veronica, Logan may be the most adored character on the show,” says creator Rob Thomas. “But we’re having fun with those two broken up.”

TV Guide: What do you think the attraction is between your characters? Jason Dohring: There’s a little bit of that Mrs. Robinson thing. For a kid in high school to be in a relationship with an older woman, a hot girl like that? Damn, man.

Charisma Carpenter: I think when you have somebody like Logan puppy-doggin’ after you and giving you all that attention, it just feels good. Besides, I don’t think Kendall is the most well-adjusted woman. [Laughs] And since I’m married to an older man [on the show], I suspect the sex is a little longer and better with Logan.

TV Guide: How did the two of you first meet?

Carpenter: We sat next to one another at [the fan convention] Comic Con. Jason was very polite. He lent me his microphone. But we didn’t formally meet [until we were] on the [Mars] set.

Dohring: She was naked [for the scene] and I was like, “Hi, I’m Jason.” It’s weird to see her with her clothes on. [Laughs]

TV Guide: Have you two gotten comfortable shooting all those love scenes?

Dohring: Every time we’re with each other, we have our clothes off! The first time kind of breaks the ice. Now, we just fire back and forth with the banter. She plays a great bitch, and I play a great man-bitch, so it’s cool.

Carpenter: We have a running joke. Every time we get into bed with each other, Jason and I ask how our spouses are doing.

Dohring: Charisma’s like, “How’s your wife?” I’m like, “She’s fine. How’s your husband?”

Carpenter: It helps me trust [Jason] a little bit more. I know there’s no funny stuff and we’re both fully committed [to our spouses]. And our spouses have met, so we’re all good.

TV Guide: Some fans really don’t like Kendall and Logan together. How does that feel?

Carpenter: I always get that. [On Angel, Cordelia] was Angel’s second love and the fans wouldn’t have it. They were like, “There’s only one love and it’s Buffy!” And that’s exactly how it is again. “There’s only one love for Logan! It’s Veronica.” So I’m used to it.

Dohring: [With Logan and Kendall], it’s just physical. I think Veronica’s the only one who can fill the hole in Logan’s life.

Carpenter: Are you really thinking about Veronica right now?! [Laughs]

TV Guide: Do you pay attention to what the fans say?

Dohring: I check it out. Not recently, though, because I started changing my acting based on what I thought they would like and I was like, “No, I can’t do that, man.”

TV Guide: Kendall’s wardrobe is either skimpy or, uh, skimpy. Charisma, have you kicked your workouts up a notch since landing this role?

Carpenter: Yes! Are you kidding me? Somebody told me, “You’re gonna be in a bikini a lot.” When I heard that, let me tell you, I started double workouts. Cardio every day.

TV Guide: Your former boss, Joss Whedon, has recently come out as a huge Veronica Mars fan and even did a cameo in the Nov. 9 episode. How does that feel?

Carpenter: I have a tremendous respect for Joss. He’s sort of like, well, not my dad, but I do want his approval. I worked for him for seven years and I think he’s a genius. So when I see him giving Veronica Mars the stamp of approval, it makes me even more excited to be a part of it. It makes me feel like I made a very good choice, and that my instincts were right.

TV Guide: What can you tell us about the upcoming death of a major character on the show?

Carpenter: It’s got to be Duncan. He’s just too nice! [Pause] No, he’s too valuable.

Dohring: Anybody, save Veronica, could be gone. It’s destabilizing when all of a sudden you get news that someone’s going to die and you’re like, “That’s gonna happen? Whoa.” [Most of the cast has] been on this show together since the beginning, and it’s hard. But [the death] is done in a very classy way.

TV Guide: Hmmm. Give us some more scoop. What’s going to happen between your characters?

Carpenter: My husband left me high and dry so [the Nov. 16 episode] is about me trying to figure out how I’m supposed to survive.

Dohring: Kendall tries to get me to be her sugar daddy and I’m like, “No way, baby. No way.” The stuff I say is ridiculous. It’s so funny.

Carpenter: [The Nov. 30 episode] shows you just how low I’m willing to go. It’s totally salacious, bitchy fun. The claws really come out. Look out!

CC: Penso che quando hai un cagnolino come Logan che ti da tutte le attenzioni è una bella cosa! D’altro canto credo che Kendall non sia proprio la donna più giusta per lui ( ride). Ma siccome il mio personaggio è sposato con un uomo più vecchio il sesso deve essere migliore e di maggiore durata con Logan!

TVGUIDE: come vi siete incontrati perla prima volta voi due?
CC: ci siamo incontrati la prima volta al ComicCon , eravamo seduti l’uno affianco all’altra. Jason è stato molto gentile, mi ha prestato il suo microfono, però ci siamo presentati formalmente solo qua sul set.

JD: lei era nuda per fare una scena, e io le ho detto: “piacere, Jason”, è strano vederla con i vestiti addosso. ( ride)

TVGUIDE: vi siete trovati bene nello girare tutte quelle scene di sesso?
JD:Ogni volta che giravamo eravamo sempre svestiti. La prima volta rompe anche un po’ il ghiaccio!ora ci stuzzichiamo spesso. Tutti e due interpretiamo personaggi un po’ cattivelli…il che è magnifico.

CC: abbiamo una strana abitudine, ogni volta che ci mettiamo in un letto per girare una scena ci chiediamo come stanno facendo i nostri rispettivi coniugi!!

JD: lei mi dice “come sta tua moglie?” ed io “ bene grazie, e tuo marito?”

CC: mi aiuta a fidarmi di Jason ancora di più. Insomma siamo entrambe sposati, i nostri coniugi si sono pure incontrati, insomma tutto bene.

TVGUIDE: a molti fan non piacciono Logan e Kendall insieme, come vi sentite a riguardo?
CC: oh, ci sono abituata. Quando recitavo in Angel, nessuno mi voleva perché la frase tipica era: c’è solo un amore per Angel ed è Buffy, ora la storia è ancora questa: c’è solo un amore nella vita di Logan ed è Veronica! Ci sono abituata!

JD: tra Logan e Kendall c’è solo fisicità, credo che Veronica sia l’unica a comprenderlo nell’insieme.

CC: stai davvero pensando a Veronica ora come ora?? ( ride)

TVGUIDE: fate attenzione a cosa dicono i fan?
JD: si, nell’ultimo periodo, però ho smesso perché mi accorgevo che stavo cominciando a fare quello che loro vorrebbero Logan facesse. E ho capito che non era giusto così.

TVGUIDE: il guardaroba di Kendall è molto succinto e….succinto!! hai cominciato a fare sport quando hai visto quei vestiti?
CC: certo, scherzi?? Qualcuno mi ha detto che sarei stata molto in bikini.quando l’ho saputo ho cominciato a lavorare il doppio. Cardio fitness ogni giorno.

TVGUIDE: il tuo boss ufficiale, Joss Whedon, ha ammesso di essere un grande amante dello show e ha persino fatto un cameo nell’episodio del 9 novembre (2×06 Rat saw God n.d.r.). Cosa ne pensi?
CC: ho un terribile rispetto per quell’uomo. Non come se fosse mio padre, però ci tengo al suo giudizio. ho lavorato con lui per 7 anni e credo sia un genio. Così quando ho visto che approvava VM mi ha reso felice visto che sono parte del cast! Mi da la sicurezza di aver fatto la cosa giusta, e che quindi il mio istinto non si sbagliava.

TVGUIDE: cosa sapete dirci sulla morte di uno dei personaggi principali?
CC: deve essere di sicuro Duncan, è troppo carino…( pausa) no, è troppo costoso.

JD: tutti, tranne Veronica, potrebbero andarsene. È destabilizzante quando vieni a scoprire una cosa del genere…il cast è sempre stato lo stesso fin dall’inizio, quindi è dura pensare a una cosa così. Però sarà fatto con molta classe.

TVGUIDE:hm…dateci degli scoop, cosa succederà tra i personaggi?
CC: mio marito mi ha lasciata senza un soldo, quindi il mio personaggio dovrà scovare un modo per sopravvivere.
JD: Kendall cercherà in ogni modo di farmi diventare il suo bambolotto, e io risponderò in toni tipo: “ non c’è storia baby”!! le cose che dico sonoassolutamente ridicole. Ci sarà da ridere.

TV Guide: ¿ Cómo os conocísteis ?

Carpenter: Nos sentamos juntos en la Comic Con. Jason fue muy educado . Me pasó su micrófono . Pero nunca fuimos formalmente presentados hasta que estuvimos en el set  de VM .

Dohring: Cualquiera , salvo Verónica, puede irse. Es muy desestabilizador el que te lleguen noticias o rumores de que alguien va a morir. Tú piensas “pero ¿ cómo va ocurrir eso? ”  , porque la mayoría de los miembros del reparto han estado juntos desde el  comienzo . Es duro de asimilar . Pero la muerte llega con mucho estilo .

TV Guide: Hmmm. Dadnos alguna exclusiva ¿ Qué va a ocurrir con vuestros personajes?

Carpenter: Mi marido me abandona , así que tengo que buscarme la manera de sobrevivir .
Dohring: Kendall trata de convertirme en el tipo que la mantenga . Y yo le digo que ni de coña . Es muy divertido .

Give Me My Remote: So I before we get started, I wanted to take a minute to thank you. I was one of the Bloggers that came out to the set for the Veronica Mars Bloggers Press Day. It was a great day, so thank you so much for taking the time to meet with us.

Jason Dohring: Yeah, it was so cool that you guys came out. It was so great. I was bummed I wasn’t able to get there until the very end, but I was glad I got a chance to talk to everyone.

GMMR: Well you were the last surprise of the day, so it was quite a thrill. You know, since the moment I first mentioned on my site that you were going to be answering questions for us, the response has been crazy. You have a lot of fans out there.

JD: Oh that’s fantastic. I love to hear that. Dude, it’s so cool to know that so many people are interested in the show because it means so much to me and my life, that it’s so good to meet others who are so into it. That is so cool. Thank you.

GMMR: The critics really love the show, but we need to get more eyeballs in front of those TVs on Wednesday nights. Can’t they just move Lost already?

JD: Ha ha…that would be nice. I think it will be good though when the CW thing happens. I think that will be really good for our show. With launching a new network, it will give our show quite a bit of visibility, and they’re talking about putting us behind Gilmore Girls or something like that which would be very good.

GMMR: Yeah, that would be a great match, as both shows have such a similar fan base.

JD: Totally. You know it’s funny because when I first started on the show, I never really knew anyone watched it, so it’s great to see all these fans that really follow it. Ya know, it means a lot, because when we’re on set it’s not like we see any fans or anything, so you almost forget that 2-3 million people are actually watching it.

GMMR: So do you have any idea when you might hear about a Seasons 3 pickup and your move to the CW?

JD: You know what, I don’t know. Well the season will start in September so I guess we’ll know before then…ha ha. I’ve heard all these press reports and they all seem to mention our show, so that’s good, right?

GMMR: So I have a few questions about our dear Logan. Over the past year he’s lost his mother to suicide, found out his father allegedly killed his girlfriend, got dumped by Veronica, he was accused of murder, and now his best friend Duncan takes off. How’s Logan doing? How do you think he’s handling all of this?

JD: You know, it’s almost f’ing unfathomable to think of what that would really be like. I don’t know anyone that has had that bad of a life. Anyone one of those things could ruin a person’s life. I don’t know, I just hope that there are points of pleasantness that can keep him sticking around. And that really begins with Veronica, and her kindness. I think what’s funny is that he always gets what’s coming to him. Like a terrible thing happens to him, but he’s like that to other people. So it’s like in real life…what goes around comes around. He treats people like shit and then wonders why that stuff is done to him, you know what I mean?

GMMR: Yeah, it’s a bit of karma as they say

JD: Yeah, that’s exactly right. But it’s kind of lost on him at this point.

GMMR: Whether he’s being snarky with Veronica, or a hard nosed brat with those is a position of authority, there is always a certain vulnerability to Logan, isn’t there?

JD: Yeah, I was just talking to a friend about this over lunch. It’s funny because I think he really has an idea of what’s fair, what’s right, what’s wrong, but what he does with that, I don’t know, I just don’t think takes enough responsibility. The thing with Logan is, he understands humanity, and the kindness of people, and although he doesn’t always react to it in the right way, he definitely sees it in every situation. As an actor, the more I learn about people, and really start looking at life, the more I grow as an artist. If you are aware of that in what you do, I think it all comes through in the character.

GMMR: One thing we love about Logan is that he never really holds back. Is that something that’s written on the page, or something you bring to him as an actor?

JD: At the beginning, when Logan was really hard and nasty, I would get a note saying things like “Have fun” and try to lighten it up or whatever. But I think in the first half of season 2, he’s had more of a nastiness to him. As the character if you see things in through a tone of hate, then everything around you seems very hostile. You end up lashing out at everything, which I know is not always the most charming trait in the character, but you got to just have fun with it, and hope that it brings more of a human side to it.

GMMR: Logan is pretty unpredictable. You really never know he’s going to react to a given situation, but I guess that’s one of my favorite things about him.

JD: Yeah, I like that too. Have you seen Murder in the First? Gary Oldham has a few scenes like that in the movie where he’s just walking around and all of a sudden he just smashes a mirror. It’s so unexpected, but then the scene just continues and you’re like…what??? I love that stuff. It’s just great, and I love when Logan is unpredictable like that.

GMMR: You and Kristen Bell having amazing on screen chemistry. Do you prefer when Veronica and Logan are more snarky towards each other, or when they are involved romantically?

JD: I like both, but for different reasons. It’s always great to play, as you call it, the snarky role with her because she’s so wonderful an actress, it’s just so fun. It’s like a game, you know, who can one up each other. So I like that. But then it’s also great when a moment of real honesty hits you during a scene. All of a sudden you’re like holy shit, your really seeing something about that person that is so real and I love that, especially with Kristin because she responds so well to everything. Any time you make a little change, she changes, and you’re like man, that’s incredible. When you get involved in a real emotional scene, it hits her and then it hits you, and you can’t help but feel like man, I’m there, I’m doing this and it’s so great.

GMMR: So you’re just there in the moment with her…

JD: Yeah, totally and it’s like that with her for all kinds of different scenes. It doesn’t really matter the genre, she’s always just on, and it’s so great as an actor to have that.

GMMR: Have you created any kind of back story for Logan that the viewers might not know about, to help you get in character?

JD: Yeah totally, sometimes there are things that aren’t written and as an actor you get to create a little story. And it’s funny, because some of my inspiration has come from the fans. Sometimes I read things people read about the character and it helps me. I’d say I use that quite a lot, to create some kind of story about what’s happened or whatever. Like if I had a scene with Duncan, the more you use that back story about the relationship, I think the more real it comes across on screen.

GMMR: So you spend time on TV websites and forums reading about the show?

JD: Absolutely. But you can get so into it really gets you thinking…what would they (the fans) like? And then you are f’ed because then you’re trying to please someone else. I don’t want to try to please people, but just go with the character.

GMMR: You don’t want the fans voice in the back of your head.

JD: Exactly. As an actor, if I have to make a choice about something, I can’t be thinking, aw the fans wouldn’t really like that. That would suck, because it wouldn’t be true to who Logan is.

GMMR: Earlier this season Rob Thomas got to write one scene that AOL served up as an alternative ending. This scene didn’t have to have any consequence on the rest of the season. If you could maybe dictate a storyline for Logan with no consequence, what would you have him doing?

JD: Oh my god, wow, I don’t know. That’s a tough one. Wait, well I guess this would have major consequences, but it would be cool if maybe Logan took one of the Fitzpatrick’s as like a father figure. He could get involved in the Irish Mafia a bit, and maybe get pulled out eventually by Veronica or something. That could be fun.

GMMR: Do you have a favorite on screen moment?

JD: My favorite on screen moments are when you are really there and you know you’re creating something. That’s so exciting…it’s why you come to work. There’s been a couple of those, especially in the last few episodes that we shot that I really felt that. It’s going to be nice to see it on the screen. We’ve got a lot of good stuff to look forward to.

GMMR: Yeah, when we were talking to Rob Thomas a few weeks back, he was really excited for some of the episodes that will air later in the season. It was great for us as fans to see him so excited.

JD: I know, but isn’t that great? I totally love rapping with him. I’ll see him at parties and we’ll just chat about the show. He tell me all his ideas, and he’s so excited and I get so jazzed…it’s f’in great! It must such a joy for him to have people respond so well to the show, because that’s his life.

GMMR: So we’ve heard some buzz about a movie you did called Dreamland. Can you tell us what’s going on with that?

JD: You know I’m not exactly sure, I know they are still putting together some financing, so we’ll have to see how that plays out. I’ll let you know that as things move and it gets closer. I just don’t know, I don’t know what’s happening on it right now, but I know they’re still trying to pull it together. But I’m looking at a couple of other roles now, there’s one part about a young pool shark that would be awesome to play. I would dig that. I’d also love to do a play if no movies come around. Just to get into acting a little more. Just to learn. I’ve got to get on it a little more. So I hope I get the chance to do that.

GMMR: Personal question for you. How does your wife react to the attention you get from your female fans?

JD: Oh it’s no problem, I don’t know. It’s not like I’m sleeping with any of those fans,, ha ha, so I don’t think it’s too much of a problem for my wife. We’re just fantastic friends so it’s cool. And the fans talk to her too, which is great, and then we can talk about it together which is awesome. We love it.

GMMR: Are there any TV shows that you’re really into right now?

JD: The Family Guy…and, uh…The Family Guy. I don’t know. You know, I’ve been watching movies more than TV lately.

GMMR: What movies have you been watching?

JD: Oh I just saw this awesome movie called The Boxer which stars Daniel day Lewis. F-ing awesome. The whole movie is great. Ever actor in it is f-ing amazing, every cast member is really, really good. But I’m interested in a whole bunch of different types of movies. I guess I’d say that the movies I’m most into are the same as your typical guy…I really like the action movies. Oh and Rushmore dude…the guy, Jason Schwartzman, I think he has a lot of Logan qualities. Actually in one of the episodes coming up there’s a little reference to Max Fischer (Schwartzman’s character in the movie) which is pretty cool. You know, I remember watching it when I was like 13, and remember thinking this movie sucks. And then I saw it again recently and said this film is amazing. This kid is awesome. Oh my god, Jason Schwartzman, he’s great. Talk about being in the role…he is this guy. Aw dude, he’s awesome and so funny. You’ll have to tell me if you think he’s like Logan. I definitely saw a lot of Logan there. A slacker but extremely intelligent.

GMMR: So did you catch Teddy Dunn on Grey’s Anatomy Sunday night?

JD: No, but I taped it. How was it?

GMMR: It was great. It was kind of bizarre to see him in a role other than Duncan, especially since I hadn’t seen him in anything else before

JD: That’s great man. I can’t wait to watch. I’m going to see him in a couple of weeks, so that’s going to be cool. I know he’s studying in LA with a big acting teacher, so that’s awesome. And yeah, he took a road trip across the country with a friend of his. I think all is well and I’m looking forward to seeing him again in a couple of weeks.

GMMR: Actually the writers of Grey’s Anatomy have their own blog, and one of them wrote about how excited she was to have Teddy on. She said she watches VM religiously and tried very hard not to stalk him around the set for VM nuggets.

JD: No way!!! Dude, that’s so awesome to hear, I’m so excited. It’s amazing to be on a show that people watch. It’s cool to be on a show that people in the industry actually watch. And it’s great to hear from people associated with great shows that watch your show. Very cool.

GMMR: So is there anything you want to say to fans of you, Logan, and the show?

JD: Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for watching and supporting us. We’ve got some great stuff coming up this season. So, yeah, thanks!

JD: Oh, si ed è fantastico. Mi piace sentire queste cose ragazzi, è bello sapere che le persone sono interessate allo show, perché significa molto per me e poterlo condividere con altri che lo amano è fantastico. Grazie!

GMMR: I critici amano molto lo show, ma dobbiamo tenere gli occhi aperti anche per un altro telefilm il mercoledì sera!! Non potrebbero spostare Lost???

JD: ahah, sarebbe carino..credo che sarà possibile quando andremo in onda sulla CW .Questo ci darà un po’ di visibilità in più . già si parla di mandarlo in onda dopo “ una mamma per amica” o cose così, il che è molto positivo!

GMMR:già sarebbe una bella accoppiata, visto che ci sono molti fan in comune.

JD:Assolutamente! Sai, è curioso perché quando ho cominciato a lavorarci non c’era nessuno che lo conosceva, mentre ora è bello vedere come molti fan ne siano appassionati e lo seguano!è importante , perché quando sei sul set non ci sono fan e ti dimentichi che almeno 2-3 milioni di persone lo guardano!

GMMR: sai qualcosa sulla 3 stagione o sul passaggio alla CW?

JD: sai cosa..non lo so!la stagione comincerà a  settembre, quindi penso lo sapremo prima di quella data ahah!! Ho sentito la stampa parlarne, deve essere un buon segno no?

GMMR:Ho un paio di domande riguardo al nostro amato Logan: Nel corso dell’ultimo anno sua madre si è suicidata, ha scoperto che suo padre ha ucciso la fidanzata, è stato scaricato da Veronica, è stato accusato di omicidio ed ora il suo migliore amico se n’è andato. Come l’ha presa Logan? Come pensi affronterà tutto questo?

JD: Sai, è alquanto impensabile cercare di capire come starebbe davvero. Non conosco nessuno che abbia avuto una vita tanto brutta come la sua. Ognuna di queste cose potrebbe rovinare la vita di chiunque. Non so, spero solo ci siano dei momenti un po’ più leggeri che lo facciano andare avanti. Tanto per incominciare con Veronica, con la sua gentilezza. La cosa buffa è che assorbe tutto ciò che gli accade. Gli succede qualcosa di terribile, però allo stesso tempo è come il resto della gente .é  come nella vita reale, quello che fai ti ritorna indietro. Tratta la gente come se fosse spazzatura e poi si domanda perché gli succedono determinate cose. Capisci ciò che voglio dire?

GMMR:Si, c’è un po’ di “karma” in quello che dici..

JD: Già, esattamente. Ma a questo punto non credo lo capisca.

GMMR:Nonostante sia scontroso con Veronica, o un ragazzaccio con chi cerca di imporsi a lui con autorità, c’è sempre un suo lato vulnerabile vero?

JD: si, stavo parlando di questo fatto con un amico proprio oggi, a pranzo. é buffo perché credo che Logan abbia un’idea di cosa sia la gentilezza, di cosa sia giusto, di cosa  sia sbagliato, ma che  cosa ci faccia di questa consapevolezza non lo so proprio. Non penso si prenda molta responsabilità. Il punto è che comprende l’umanità, la gentilezza nelle persone, e nonostante non reagisca sempre a tutto ciò come dovrebbe, lo percepisce comunque in ogni situazione. Come attore, più mi apro alle persone e  comincio a guardare alla vita , più cresco come artista. Se prendi coscienza di questo in quello che fai, credo che alla fine  si noti anche nel personaggio che interpreti .

GMMR:Una cosa che non piace di Logan è che non sa contenersi…è una caratteristica del personaggio o qualcosa che tu, come attore, aggiungi ?

JD: All’inizio quando Logan era molto più duro solevo farmi bigliettini con frasi del tipo: “ cerca di Divertirti” o cose del genere. Però credo che dalla metà della seconda stagione in poi  si cominci a vedere il suo carattere meno ostile. Come il personaggio, se vedi le cose intorno a te con un velo di odio, allora tutto ciò che vedrai sembrerà ostile. So che questo  non è il lato migliore del personaggio, ma bisogna cercare di prenderla dal lato giusto, sperando che questo gli porti un po’ di umanità.

GMMR:Logan è anche imprevedibile…non sai mai come reagirà in una determinata situazione, ma penso che questa sia una delle cose che mi piace di più in lui.

JD: Si, piace anche a me. Hai mai visto il film “Murder in the first”? Gary Oldham ha un paio di scene in cui cammina tranquillamente e tutto d’un tratto spacca dei vetri. È così inaspettato, poi la scena continua e tu ti chiedi… cosa???? Mi piace !! E’ bellissimo, e mi piace quando Logan è imprevedibile.

GMMR: Tu e Kristen Bell avete una grande alchimia sul piccolo schermo. Ti piace di più quando Logan e Veronica si stuzzicano a vicenda o quando sono coinvolti l’un l’altra romanticamente?

JD: Entrambe, ma per ragioni diverse. È sempre bello recitare con lei stuzzicandosi, come hai detto tu, perché è un’ attrice meravigliosa, così divertente. È come se giocassimo , mi piace. Però  amo anche quando un momento di sincerità ti colpisce durante una scena. Immediatamente vedi qualcosa in quella persona che è così reale…e mi piace, soprattutto con Kristen, perché risponde molto bene allo stimolo. All’improvviso si cambia scena, lei cambia..e tu pensi che sia davvero incredibile!Quando reciti in una scena così densa di sentimenti sei come rapito e non puoi far altro che pensare: sto girando una scena che risulterà  geniale!!

GMMR:è come se fossi in quel momento con lei…

JD: si, assolutamente, e con lei è così ogni tipo di scena. Non importa il genere, lei è presente, e come attore è bellissimo lavorare così.

GMMR: hai mai creato una sorta di “retroscena” alla storia  di Logan , di cui gli spettatori non sanno nulla, per aiutarti ad entrare nel personaggio?

JD: Si , decisamente. A volte ci sono cose che non sono scritte e come attore ti devi creare delle storielle. E’ buffo, perché molte delle mie aspirazioni vengono dagli stessi fan. A volte leggo quello che le persone dicono sul personaggio e vengo ispirato. Devo dire che lo uso abbastanza spesso come tecnica. Per esempio se devo fare una scena con Duncan mi aiuto con delle storie da retroscena che   mi aiutano a capire il livello della loro relazione e così, infine, la scena risulterà più reale..

GMMR: quindi passi del tempo su forum o siti televisivi per leggere cosa dicono dello show?

JD: Assolutamente. Ma puoi entrare così tanto nel meccanismo che alla fine ti fanno pensare…che cosa gli piacerà??E poi sei fregato perché cerchi di compiacere qualcun’ altro. Non voglio compiacere nessuno, solo fare evolvere il mio personaggio.

GMMR: non vuoi il fiato sul collo da parte dei fan insomma…

JD: Esattamente, come attore devo fare delle scelte. Non posso pensare “ oddio ai fan non piacerà”. Sarebbe strano, perché infine non sarebbe il vero Logan.

GMMR: all’inizio della stagione Rob Thomas ha dovuto scrivere per AOL un finale alternativo. la scena non doveva avere conseguenze sulla storia del resto della stagione. Se potessi dettare la storia senza  conseguenze su Logan,  cosa gli avresti fatto fare?

JD: Oddio, Wow, non saprei. È difficile, aspetta, forse avrebbe delle conseguenze, ma credo che sarebbe carino se Logan prendesse come figura paterna un membro dei Fitzpatrick. Potrebbe essere coinvolto nella mafia irlandese  e probabilmente essere scoperto da Veronica o cose così. Sarebbe divertente.

GMMR: hai una scena preferita?

JD:le scene che preferisco sono quelle in cui mi sento coinvolto e in cui  sento che sto creando qualcosa..è così eccitante…è il motivo per cui vengo al lavoro. Ne abbiamo girate un paio, specialmente negli ultimi due episodi. Sarà bello vederli sullo schermo. Ci sono ancora un sacco di cose in cantiere.

GMMR: si, quando abbiamo parlato con Rob un paio di settimane fa era molto eccitato per alcune scene che dovrà girare .é stato bello per noi fan vederlo così entusiasta.

JD: lo so, non è fantastico?? Adoro conversare con lui…l’ho visto a delle feste, abbiamo parlato dello  show. mi ha detto le sue idee ed era così entusiasta che lo ero pure io. È fantastico. È una gioia per lui avere delle persone che rispondo così bene allo show, è la sua vita.

GMMR: allora, abbiamo sentito dei pettegolezzi su un film da te interpretato intitolato “ Dreamland”. Puoi dirci cosa sta succedendo?

JD:Non ne sono sicuro. So che stanno raccogliendo dei soldi,ma non so come andrà a finire. Ti farò sapere se le cose cominceranno a girare. Non so cosa stia succedendo per ora se non che stanno facendo di tutto per realizzarlo. Sto prendendo in considerazione  altri ruoli , c’è una parte di un giovane raggiratore che mi piacerebbe interpretare. mi piacerebbe anche fare teatro nel caso non arrivassero film . Soprattutto per imparare.

GMMR: domanda personale: come reagisce tua moglie alle attenzioni delle giovani fan?

JD: non ci sono problemi, non saprei. Non è che io vada a letto con una di queste fan…ahah. Quindi non è un problema per mia moglie. Siamo anche molto amici, il che è bellissimo. Anche i fan parlano con lei, è carino perché poi ne riparliamo insieme. Ci piace.

GMMR: c’è qualche telefilm in cui ti piacerebbe recitare?

JD: “The family guy”…e… no so, “The family guy”!! Sto guardando più film che tv ultimamente.

GMMR: che film hai visto?

JD: ho visto un film intitolato : “the boxer” con protagonista  Daniel Day _Lewys , bellissimo, tutto il film è geniale. Ogni attore è magnifico. Mi piacciono molti film differenti. Penso che tu diresti  che sono interessato a generi di  film come la maggior parte dei ragazzi… mi piacciono i film d’azione…ah e “ Rushmore”, ragazzi, credo che Jason Schwartzman abbia molte qualità simili a  Logan. In uno degli episodi c’è un riferimento a Max Fischer ( Il personaggio di Jason Schwartzman) che risulta esilarante. Sai, ricordo di averlo visto a 13 anni e  non mi era piaciuto. Poi l’ho rivista poco tempo fa e l’ho trovato geniale. Quel ragazzo è stupefacente…Dio mio, Jason Schwartzman è un grande.  Stupefacente e divertente. Devi dirmi se non ti sembra Logan. Io vedo molto di lui in Jason Schwartzman .

GMMR: hai visto ieri sera Teddy Dunn in “Grey’s Anatomy”?

JD: no, però l’ho registrato…come è andato?

GMMR:  Bravissimo , è stato strano vederlo in un ruolo che non fosse quello di  Duncan, soprattutto perché non l’ho visto in nessun altro.

JD:Stupendo, non vedo l’ora di vederlo.  Devo incontrarlo tra un paio di settimane. So che sta studiando con un professore di interpretazione a Los Angeles.

GMMR: i creatori di “Grey’s Anatomy”  hanno un loro blog e hanno scritto quanto sia stato eccitante recitare con Teddy. Uno è fan di Veronica Mars e ha detto che ha fatto fatica a non comportarsi come uno stalker.

JD: ma dai??  Che bello sentire una cosa del genere. Sono emozionato. Già è bello recitare in una serie che la gente segue, ma è meraviglioso che anche la gente che è nell’industria cinematografica ne sia appassionata. Ed è fenomenale sentire che la gente che lavora in un  grande show ti segua. è incredibile!

GMMR: c’è qualcosa che vorresti dire ai fan di Veronica Mars e Logan?

JD: solo grazie per seguirci e appoggiarci. Abbiamo tantissime cose nuove da mostravi in questa stagione. Grazie mille.

GMMR:Jason, grazie mille per avermi dedicato il tuo tempo. Sono un vostro fan quindi è stato fantastico.

Give Me My Remote: Antes de comenzar , quisiera darte las gracias .Fui uno de los bloggers que asistió al Bloggers Press Day en el set de Verónica Mars. Fue un día estupendo y quería darte las gracias por el tiempo que nos dedicaste .

Jason Dohring: Sí, fue genial que viniérais,  y estoy muy contento de haber tenido la oportunidad de hablar con todos .

GMMR: Fuiste la última sorpresa del día . Eso fue muy emocionante ¿ Sabes ? Desde el momento en que mencioné en mi página web que ibas a asistir y que ibas a  contestar preguntas para nosotros  , la respuesta fue tremenda. La gente se volvió loca . Tienes montones de fans .

JD: Eso es fantástico y me encanta oirlo. Tío , es genial  saber que hay tanta gente interesada en la serie  porque ésta  significa mucho para mí  y para mi vida . Es bueno conocer a otras personas con el mismo interés . Gracias .

GMMR: A los críticos les gusta el show , pero necesitamos que maás pares de ojos estén frente a la tele los miércoles por la noche ¿ Es que no pueden cambiar de una vez el horario de emisión de Lost ?

JD: Jajajaja , sería estupendo . Creo que será posible cuando se lance el nuevo canal CW . Esto nos dará un poco más de visibilidad y ya  se está hablando de emitir la serie detrás de “Las chicas Gilmore” , lo que sería muy bueno para nosotros .

GMMR:  Sí , hacéis muy Buena “pareja” y las dos series tenéis un grupo de fans bastante parecido .

JD: Exacto . Resulta divertido , porque cuando empecé a trabajar en la serie , no conocía a nadie que la viera . Por eso es fantástico comprobar como hay montones de fans que la siguen . Significa un montón para nosotros , porque cuando estás en el set de rodaje no ves fans por ningún sitio , de modo que casi llegas a olvidar que hay 2-3 millones de personas viendo la serie .

GMMR: ¿ Tenéis alguna idea acerca del fichaje de una tercera temporada y de vuestro traslado a la CW?

JD: Sabes, no lo sé. La tercera temporada empezará en Septiembre , así que lo deberíamos saber  antes de entonces …jajajaja He oído algo acerca de todos esos reportajes y todos hacen mención a nuestra serie. Eso es muy bueno ¿no?

GMMR: Tengo unas cuantas preguntas acerca de nuestro querido Logan . El año pasado su madre se suicidó ; su padre fue hallado culpable del asesinato de su novia, fue plantado por Verónica, acusado de asesinato y , encima , Duncan, su mejor amigo  , se largó ¿ Cómo lo lleva Logan ? ¿ Cómo crees que está llevando todo eso ?

JD: Sabes , es algo jo***amente insondable pensar en cómo podrían ser las cosas . Una sola de esta cosas que le ocurren a Logan ya puede arruinar de por sí la vida de cualquiera. No sé , sólo espero que haya algo agradable a lo que pueda aferrarse . Y esto realmente se materializa en Verónica y su amabilidad.
Creo que lo divertido es que él siempre  pilla todo lo que le viene. Como si algo terrible le pasara , pero es como el resto de la gente . Es como en la vida real, lo que se va , regresa. El trata a la gente como si fuera basura y luego se pregunta por qué le pasa lo que le pasa ¿ Sabes lo que quiero decir ?

GMMR: Sí , hay un poco de karma en todo eso .

JD: Sí , exacto . Pero él no lo capta  .

GMMR: Tanto si es cáustico con Verónica, como un chaval malcriado con aquellos que ostentan una posición de autoridad, hay una cierta vulnerabilidad en él ¿no?

 JD: Sí , estuve comentándolo con un amigo. Es divertido, porque él tiene una idea de lo que es justo , de lo que está bien o mal ;  pero qué hace con ella , no lo sé . No me parece que asuma mucha responsabilidad. La cosa es que él percibe y comprende la humanidad y la amabilidad de la gente ,  aunque no siempre reaccione de la manera correcta  . Siendo actor , cuando más aprendo de la gente y de la observación de la vida , más crezco como artista. Si eres consciente de esto en lo que haces , creo que se manifiesta en el personaje .

GMMR: Una cosa que nos gusta de Logan  es que nunca se contiene . Esto ¿ forma parte del guión o es aportación tuya ?

JD: Al principio , cuando Logan era realmente duro y desagradable , yo quería tener anotaciones que dijeran algo así como “diviértete e  intenta tomártelo menos en serio “ o algo así. Creo que,  a la mitad de la segunda temporada , se aprecia que ha vivido con demasiado rencor encima . Como el personaje , si ves todo a través de un velo de odio , entonces todo a tu  alrededor parece hostil , y acabas por arremeter contra todo ; lo cuál , lo sé , no es  el lado más encantador del personaje ; pero tienes que intentar divertirte con ello. Espero que eso le aporte algo de humanidad .

GMMR: Logan es bastante impredecible . Nunca sabes cómo va a reaccionar ante una situación, pero adivino que una de las cosas que más me gustan del personaje.

JD: Sí , a mí también ¿ Has visto “Asesinato en primer grado” ? Gary Oldman tiene una  escena en la que está dando vueltas y repentinamente va y destroza un espejo. Es algo absolutamente inesperado , la escena prosigue y tú te quedas atónito preguntándote qué ha pasado . Me encanta eso . Es genial y yo adoro a Logan cuando es tan impredecible .

GMMR: Tú y Kristen Bell tenéis una química extraordinaria  ¿ Prefieres cuando se comportan cáusticamente uno con otro o cuando están ligados en una relación amorosa  ?

JD: Me gustan las dos cosas , por diferentes motivos . Es estupendo interpretar el papel ácido y desagradable con ella , porque es tan buena actriz que es todo diversión  .Es como un juego y me gusta. Pero también es fabuloso cuando un momento de sinceridad te golpea durante una escena .  De repente , ves algo en esa persona  que es tan real … Y eso me gusta , sobre todo con Kristin , porque ella responde muy bien. Si introduces un cambio , ella cambia y tú piensas que es increíble . Cuando está metido en una escena realmente emocional , te llega y le llega , y no hay nada que puedas hacer salvo sentirte como “estoy aquí , estoy haciendo esto y resulta genial.”

GMMR: Entonces , tú realmente “estás ” ahí viviendo ese momento con ella …

JD: Sí , exacto . Y así es con ella en cualquier escena. No importa el  género , siempre está en la onda contigo .Para cualquier actor eso es fenomenal.

GMMR: ¿ Has creado algún tipo de historia de fondo para Logan , que los espectadores desconozcan , y que te ayude a componer el personaje?

JD: Sí . Hay cosas que no figuran en el guión y para entrar en el personaje necesitas crearte  esa pequeña historia. Es divertido,  porque buena parte  de la  inspiración me la han aportado los fans. A veces , leo cosas y eso me ayuda . Diría que uso mucho este recurso para crear algún tipo de historia sobre lo que ha ocurrido o lo que sea . Si tengo,  por ejemplo , una escena con Duncan , cuanto más use como apoyo esa historia de fondo , más real será la  escena .

GMMR: ¿ Pasas tiempo en webs de TV o foros de Internet  leyendo sobre la serie ?

JD:Por supuesto , pero te puedes meter tanto en eso que acabes pensando… pero ¿ qué quieren los fans ? Y entonces estás jod**o , porque estás intentando complacerles.Y yo no quiero eso , sino atrapar el personaje .

GMMR: No quieres oir en tu cabeza las voces de los fans .

JD: Justo . Como actor , debo hacer una elección . No puedo estar pensando en que a  los fans les gustará esto o les disgustará aquello. Eso apestaría , porque no sería fiel al auténtico Logan  .

GMMR: Esta temporada Rob Thomas escribió una escena que AOL presentó como final alternativo . Esta escena no ha tenido consecuencias en el resto de la temporada . Si tú pudieras dictar una historia para Logan  que no tuviera consecuencias , ¿ qué le harías hacer ?

JD: Oh,  Dios mío, no sé …Es complicado . Espera , bueno , imagino que esto sí tendría consecuencias , pero sería guay que  Logan “adoptara “ a  uno de los  Fitzpatrick  como figura paterna. Acabaría un poco  involucrado con la  Mafia Irlandesa y , tal vez , arrancado de ella por  Verónica . Podría ser divertido .

GMMR: ¿ Tienes un momento favorito cuando estás en escena ?

JD: Mis momentos favoritos son aquellos en que realmente “estas ahí “ y sabes que estás creando algo. Es tan excitante …Es  el motivo de que vayas a trabajar . Ha habido un par de momentos , en los últimos episodios rodados , en los que me sentí así. Va a ser bonito verlo . Tenemos un montón de buen material con el que trabajar.

GMMR: Sí , cuando hablamos con Rob Thomas hace unas semanas , nos dijo que estaba entusiasmado con algunos de los episodios que se emitirán más adelante .

JD: Lo sé ¿no es fantástico ? Me encanta estar de cháchara con él . Le veo en alguna fiesta y charlamos sobre la serie. Él me cuenta sus ideas y yo le cuento las mías. Es tan excitante… Es estupendo. Debe ser genial para él tener gente que responde tan bien a la serie , porque éste es su vida .

GMMR: Nos ha llegado un rumor sobre una película  que se llama  “Dreamland” ¿ Puedes decirnos qué pasa con eso ?

JD: No estoy seguro . Sé que están aún buscando financiación , así que ya veremos qué pasa. No sé cómo estarán las cosas . De momento ,  le estoy echando el ojo a un par de papeles .Uno es el de un joven  buscavidas de los billares que sería genial poder encarnar. También me gustaría hacer algo de teatro si no llegan películas. Sólo por meterme en la interpretación un poco más. Sobre todo para aprender .Espero tener la oportunidad de poder hacerlo .

GMMR: Pregunta personal ¿ Cómo reacciona tu esposa a la atención que recibes de tus fans femeninas ?

JD: No hay problema . No es como si me acostara con cualquiera de  ellas, jajajajajaja Mi mujer y yo somos excelentes amigos y eso es estupendo . A los fans les encanta hablar con ella , lo que está genial , y entonces podemos hablar de ello los dos , Eso es fantástico. Nos encanta .

GMMR: ¿ Hay algún show televisivo en el que te gustaría estar ?

JD: The Family Guy…o … No sé … He estado viendo más películas que TV últimamente.

GMMR: ¿ Qué pelis has estado viendo ?

JD: Vi esa estupenda película llamada “The Boxer” que protagoniza  Daniel Day- Lewis. Jod***mente asombrosa .Toda la película  es genial . Cada actor del reparto  está prodigioso. Estoy interesado en un montón de pelis diferentes. Supongo que te diría que estoy interesado en las mismas que cualquier otro chico … Me gustan las pelis de acción . Ah, y “ Rushmore” , tío … Y  Jason Schwartzman creo que tiene muchas de las cualidades de Logan . En uno de los episodios hay una referencia a  Max Fischer ( el personaje de Schwartzman en la película  ) que resulta muy guay. Sabes ,  recuerdo haberla visto cuando tenía unos trece años y  que pensé que esa peli apestaba . Luego , la he visto hace poco  y me pareció genial . Este chico es asombroso . Dios mío,  Jason Schwartzman es grande.  Asombroso,  y tan divertido … Tienes que decirme si crees que se parece a Logan. Yo , desde luego , veo mucho de Logan ahí.

GMMR: ¿ Viste a Teddy  Dunn anoche  en “ Anatomía de Grey” ?

JD: No, pero lo grabé ¿ Cómo estuvo ?

GMMR: Genial , y eso que fue raro verle en otro papel que no era el de Duncan ; sobre todo , porque no le había visto antes en otro .

JD: Eso es estupendo . No puedo esperar para verlo . Voy a encontrarme con él  dentro de un par de semanas . Se que está estudiando en Los Angeles con una gran profesor de interpretación.

GMMR: Los guionistas de “Anatomía de Grey”  tienen su propio blog , y una de ellas escribió que veía  religiosamente VM  , que era excitante tener cerca a  Teddy  , y que se esforzaba por no comportarse como una stalker .

JD: ¡ De ninguna manera ! Tío , es asombroso oir eso . Estoy entusiasmado . Ya es  fabuloso estar en una serie  que la gente ve ;  pero es guay estar en una serie que la gente de la industria cinematográfica ve . Y es fenomenal escuchar que gente relacionada con las grandes series ve tu show . Muy guay.

GMMR: ¿ Hay algo que desees decir a los fans de VM y de Logan ?

JD: Sólo quisiera darles las gracias por vernos y apoyarnos . Tenemos un montón de cosas estupendas esta temporada . Así que gracias .
