12/12/2007 Moonlight-Detective.com and four other bloggers had the opportunity to talk with Jason Dohring about playing a 400-year-old vampire, being asked to drop his pants in the middle of a scene, and the similarities between Josef and Logan (Veronica Mars). Check it out below.

Q. You weren’t in the original pilot; how much of the role of Josef was changed by yourself and by the writers, obviously because you’re completely different than the original actor?
JD: I don’t know if you ever saw that little teaser, but I only saw about 6 minutes of the original. The guy was much older - a fantastic actor, actually – but he was more of a mentor, I guess, and Josef is like that but also a big playboy which wasn’t really didn’t really vibe with [Rade Serbedzija]. So that’s the biggest thing. But that guy is amazing. He’s been in every single movie, man. I looked up his credits and it’s like you just keep scrolling.

Don’t forget the complete Moonlight DVD is available in Europe from today. Go to Amazon.co.uk to buy it! There’s no details about the language and subtitles but in my experience English,France and Spanish language always are in UK’s DVD. (my copy has delivered and it’s coming, uhuhuhuhu)

Non dimenticate che da oggi il DVD di Moonlight è disponibile in Europa,andate su amazon.co.uk ad acquistarlo. Non vi sono dettagli sulle lingue ma nella mia esperienza di dvd acquistati in UK normalmente l’inglese,il francese  e lo spagnolo sono comprese. Ricevereò la mia copia a giorni quindi vi aggiornerò sulle lingue.

Struck, aggiornamenti… Ecco una newsletter dalla produzione di “Struck”, il cortometraggio girato da Jason Dohring con “qualche amico” come dice lui in un’intervista a Daemons tv. In poche parole la newsletter dice che il cortometraggio è andato molto bene ed ha ricevuto ottime critiche e diversi premi in vari festival negli stati uniti. Il cortometraggio sarà presto disponibile in DVD.Una buona pubblicità per JD!

Struck update… There have been some more exciting things happening with Struck that we wanted to share with you, our friends:)

1. Struck won best “Best Short Film” at the Big Bear Lake Film Festival.
2. It also won two awards at the South Dakota Film Festival for “Best Film” and “Best Narrative.”
3. Struck won second place at the Rhode Island festival in the Best Comedy Short category and will be shown again as part of the RIIFF (Rhode Island International Film Festival) Third Tuesday Encore Film series that runs from October through June.
4. Struck was also accepted in to the 19th annual St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival in Canada as our writer/producer is female.
5. Nathan Lorch (Producer) was interviewed for the South Dakota film festival, which you can see here:http://www.aberdeennews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080918/OUTANDABOUT/809180310/-1/RSS02&rssfeed=RSS026. Struck was just accepted in to the Tulsa United Film Festival (http://www.tulsaunitedfest.com) and the BEFILM THE UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL in New York ().
This is now a total of 41 festivals screening Struck with 10 awards in all! We have hit a bug in getting the music license for the “Over the Rainbow” song in order to sell DVDs. This has been holding up our distribution of the film and we are looking into it and will have a handling soon. Thank you for being patient.

But…at the end of the day what we think the most about is our audience, their reaction to the film and the fact that we have friends like you who are always caring about our art form and what is happening with it. Here we are. Our wonderful friend Saga made the usual video for us about Jason Dohring’s part aired this week in Italy. It’s just 1 episodes this time-Arrested development- just because Josef Kostan’s part is more long than usually. Stay tuned, we are going to post B.C. episode this afternoon.

The update of the day is an AOL interview made in April 2008 with Jason Dohring - and Alex O’Loughlin - after the Comic Con in New York, as we all remember that was a very busy time for the Moonlight actors due to the end of the strike and the new 4 episodes.

1. Has it been difficult to wait for word on the show’s renewal?
Alex: It’s really hard, but that’s my life, you know? You may or may not get fired. You kind of get used to it. I think that they will [renew]. I have to think that they’ll pick us up, otherwise I’ll just give up.
Jason: We were always on the bubble for [’Veronica Mars’]. I’m a pro at being worried.
